TOWN COUNCIL WORKSHOP

CALL TO ORDER – Acting Mayor Arnold called the Meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Acting Mayor Arnold

INVOCATION – Councilman Bill Spruill

Council attending:  Acting Mayor Butch Arnold, Secretary Georgette Williams, Councilman Bill Spruill, Councilman Terry Witt

Council absent:  None

Staff attending:  Town Clerk Pamela Haddick, Police Chief Chuck Manuszak

Attorney Attending:  Mr. Barrett Edwards

Audience attending:  Mike Marasco, Jack Fairfull, Dave & BJ Van Kavelaar, Dale Rife, Joyce Stockslager, Laurie Coventry

ADOPTION OF AGENDA

• Ms. Williams moved to adopt the agenda.  Mr. Witt seconded the motion.  All in favor; none opposed.

CHARTER CHANGES

• Acting Mayor Arnold turned over the reading of the Charter Changes to Ms. Haddick.  Ms. Haddick read through each item that was in question from the 4/19/10 meeting and read the response to each by Mr. Barrett Edwards, Attorney.  Discussion by Mr. Edwards, Council & Audience ensued.  Mr. Edwards was asked to make several changes and there were a couple of items he wanted to confer with Mr. Jaywork on.  He will make the corrections needed and send a new red-line copy to Ms. Haddick this week which she will share with Council.  The Charter Changes will be on the agenda for the May 3rd Council Meeting where final discussion and possible approval will be the goal.

Mr. Witt moved to adjourn the meeting.  Mr. Spruill seconded the motion.  All in favor; none opposed.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
